Community Programs

The Murilla Community Centre facilitates many excellent programs to help those in our community to gain skills, socialise and have fun.

Miles & District Mens Shed

The Miles & District Mens shed is a community group supported by the Murilla Community Centre.

The Mens Shed group carry out a number of projects, one of which is helping maintain the buildings at the local Historical Village. The men also make Mynah bird traps for the Landcare Group to hire out to landowners. (Mynah birds are a pest to native Australian wildlife).

The men currently meet twice weekly on Thursday and Saturday.

Miles & District Womens Shed

The Miles & District Womens Shed is a community group supported by the Murilla Community Centre.

The Womens Shed provides a save and happy environment where women are encouraged to diversify their skills to create different projects. This includes learning to weld or do woodwork. All aspects of safety concerning the use of tools and materials are taught.

The group meet on Wednesday's at 3:30pm.

The Fully Booked Bookshop

The Fully Booked Bookshop is open 5 days a week from 9:00am to 4:00pm, and is operated by a generous group of lovely volunteers.

Proceeds from the bookshop go towards keeping the Community Bus on the road. Please visit 61 Murilla Street, Miles to support your local second hand bookshop.

If you have any questions or would like to volunteer or donate books, please contact the Murilla Community Centre on 4627 2027.
